The present study with a futures study approach, identifies the most important factors affecting the future security relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the Republic of Azerbaijan.This research is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of method a combination of documentary and survey methods and in terms of nature, it is based on new methods of futurology, analytical and exploratory science which is done by using a combination of quantitative and qualitative models.Therefore, according to the nature of the research, this research seeks to answer the question that what are the drivers or key factors affecting the future state of security relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan and to what extent and how do they affect each other?To answer the research question, the structural analysis method of Mick Mac and Delphi has been used. In this regard, after holding initial discussion sessions with fifteen elites and executive and academic experts (research statistical community),who had sufficient expertise and experience in security issues and international relations, they were asked to interact within the matrix of effects.Rate propellants based on how effective they are.Twenty primary propellants were identified in four general dimensions. Next, the initial drivers of the crossover matrix were defined in Mick Mac prospect software. What can be understood from the position of the propulsion scattering plate is the instability of the system that most of the propulsions are scattered around the diagonal axis of the plate. Finally, due to the high score of direct and indirect influence, the six key drivers and levers were identified as having the greatest impact on the future state of security relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
