The healthcare supply chain in Iran needs coopetition to compensate for its shortcomings and optimize resource allocation. coopetition refers to the collaboration of competitors, which can bring numerous benefits to Iran's healthcare system. Given the significance of this topic, it is essential to conduct a thorough analysis of coopetition and identify its possible futures. In this study, utilizing a thematic analysis and layered causal analysis approach, scenarios of coopetition within the healthcare supply chain were identified. The statistical population of the research comprises experts in Iran's healthcare supply chain. Data collection was conducted through fieldwork, using semi-structured interviews as the tool. The findings revealed 51 codes categorized into four levels: latent, systematic causes, discourse, and metaphor. Based on two major drivers—"coopetition management" and "economic conditions"—four scenarios were identified: pioneers, traditional competitors, allies, and the losers. Among these scenarios, the pioneers scenario, characterized by favorable economic conditions and effective coopetition management, is the most desirable. Following this is the allies scenario, where coopetition management is in a favorable state as well. Based on the research findings, recommendations were provided at three levels: optimal selection for managers, drafting competition contracts, and in-service training for the managers of the healthcare supply chain.
