The rapid evolution of communication technologies and the expansion of cyberspace have fundamentally transformed the cultural structures of societies. The Islamic world, too, faces emerging opportunities and challenges that directly influence its identity, lifestyle, and media authority. This study aims to conduct a strategic analysis of the media landscape in the Islamic world and to outline a desirable future trajectory for it. The significance of this research lies in the growing dominance of global platforms and Western cultural narratives, which make the development of an independent and meaningful media governance framework for Islamic countries an essential necessity. The research employs a hybrid methodology combining environmental SWOT analysis—to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats—with scenario-based futures studies to anticipate potential developmental pathways. Data were collected through an analytical approach and organized into overarching strategies, SMART objectives, and four alternative scenarios. The findings indicate that by leveraging internal capacities, a young and dynamic workforce, the potential for technology localization, and the reinforcement of shared cultural narratives, the Islamic world can become an influential hub for digital content production. Conversely, the lack of media coherence, infrastructural weaknesses, and the dominance of Western platform algorithms represent the most significant threats to its media future. Ultimately, four scenarios for the media future of the Islamic world are presented, concluding that achieving the optimal scenario depends on intelligent strategies, cultural cohesion, and effective global engagement.
